Welcome. You might want to take a picture under the hood so we can see what's all been done. But I can tell you that the tow hook is not stock.

Are you asking for mods that had been done at one point in time, but have been taken back to stock? Or are you asking for possible internal mods that you can't get to to see easily?
And, is it just the camera angle or does that toe hook stick out really, really far?

Look at the shadow in the second pic. It does stick out really really far.

Welcome! I just went through a TON of noob threads looking for that car but no dice so far. Some under the hood shots would help identify the car and mods.

Welcome the forums first off. That's a clean looking evo. I'd lose that tow hook though haha
Post up some pics and we'll help you out.

Ya, I just have to prioritize repairs due to EXTREME lack of funds. Springs Auto left out a lot of stuff when I asked about mechanical problems. I fixed the oil leak, the exhaust leak, and the coolant leak, now I'm working on the stalling problem. That's why i wanted to get in contact with the previous owner to see what he already tried and if it may have started after he put on a mod or something.

I wish I could help you but I don't reconize the car. Have you tried posting about it on Evolutionm.net to see if anyone there reconizes it. If you are having a stalling issue I would suspect whatever that crushed contraption of a BOV is as the culprit although it is impossible to diagnose without more info.
Anyone know what kind of manifold that is? I have never seen one like it before and maybe for good reason.

Ya, during my search of the forums I read that a VTA BOV may be an issue. It's a Greddy type rs but it has the recirculation kit on it. I'm trying to get my friend's friend to let me borrow his stock bov to see if that is the issue and I also read that a MAF pipe can cause stalling too. I've never seen a stock 4g63 before so I'm not sure if I have one or not, i'm going to see if he can lend me the stock pipe too to compare and to see if that's an issue too

I think the ex manifold says ISS or ISIS on it, it's hard to see. I haven't heard of them before

I am no expert but a stock IX BOV would probably serve your needs better than that one. Might help with your stalling issue. I have never seen that manifold before either, not too sure on that runner layout. I wouldn't think that MAF pipe would cause it unless it's in bad need of a tune(which may very well be possible). It looks like a pretty typical pipe and it's not MAF delete. Have you done a boost leak test on it? Also make sure all your clamps are tight. Is there a reason that the dip stick has a spring holding it in place?

I just looked up the Isis manifold. It looks like Isis Performance specializes in Nissan. I didn't see anything for the Evo on their website as far as manifolds is concerned.

Ok after a little searching - that manifold looks very much like a Forced Performance manifold.

I am sorry to say, but there may be issues with your tune that we simply cannot do or say anything about other than "get it looked at". If it is a sea level car & brought up to Colorado, then it will act funny & the car won't drive great. But if there were previous mods done to it & tuned accordingly, and then the owner took the mods out to make some extra money, but did not bother to re tune it, then absolutely you are going to have some serious issues that pictures on the web will do nothing to help it. If your car is dying there are sooo many areas to look at for culprits.....boost leaks, spark plugs & gap, coils & plugs, injectors & scaling, something wrong in the tune...etc.
My best advice to you right now is get it to someone capable of looking at the tune & go from there. We are located up north in Aurora, CO......so if you ever need to bring it by the shop, just let me know & we can try to help you figure out your issues.
Matthew.

You can't go wrong with that advice. ^^^^
One thing to point out, if its running lean, then your motor will go boom.

Thanks cmattb25 for the info and the link. Found some of my mods on that site so now I know the specs for them I have an A/F gauge that shows 14.8 at idle and it pretty much stays around 14.5-15.5 while driving, from which I'm told is ideal so hopefully no prob there. That was pretty much my theory too, that it was stripped for whatever mods could be taken off and now it's not running well without them. I have been looking at the jdm bov at the lancershop and the HKS Idle Stabilizer, but looking at my ecu it looks like the previous owner may have tried the Idle Stabilizer cause it looks like the wires were cut and then soldered back together, so I may try the JDM BOV.

Get a IX BOV buddy. I've heard of people holding 30psi on them. I have the IX on mine and it drives awesome. What does your AFR say during WOT(wide open throttle)? That's where it really matters not where it's at when you are just cruising. A tune should be first on your list. You don't know what the car has had on it or what tune has been flashed on it or anything like that so you need to get it looked at asap. I would go as far as saying don't get on it until this is done. Not trying to sound like a dick just trying to help a fellow evo owner out. My sig has a link to a guys e-mail in Cheyenne who tuned my evo. He's very reasonably priced and not too far from you. I also know Matthew at street concepts can help you out as well. Good luck

Ya, the dipstick was popping out at high rpms and oil was spewing all over my hood and engine so I got the Buschur retension spring, fixed the problem

Yeah the IX / X BOV is good. Mine has held 28 lbs when I was over boosting.
You can find the X BOV cheap from guys that think they need to replace it with something that makes sounds.
